Schedule: Monday & Wednesday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Tuesday & Thursday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

Friday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Job Title: DA Floater - Clinical & Patient Care Coordinator

Position Summary

The Dental Clinical & Patient Care Coordinator is a highly skilled, cross-trained team member who supports both clinical and front office operations to ensure exceptional patient care and smooth daily workflow. This role serves as a trusted floater, stepping in where needed to maintain efficiency, patient satisfaction, and team support. The ideal candidate brings prior dental experience, strong judgment, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support (Back Office)

  • Chairside assisting for general dentistry procedures with efficiency and professionalism

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials according to clinical protocols

  • Ensure proper sterilization, infection control, and operatory turnover

  • Anticipate provider needs and support procedure flow to maximize productivity

  • Assist with patient comfort, education, and post-operative instructions

Front Office & Patient Coordination

  • Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out processes

  • Schedule appointments with a focus on production goals and provider availability

  • Verify insurance, collect payments, and review treatment plans as needed

  • Support patient communication regarding appointments, follow-ups, and financial questions

  • Assist with maintaining accurate patient records and documentation

Floater & Operational Support

  • Transition seamlessly between front and back office based on daily needs

  • Support team members during high-volume or short-staffed periods

  • Help manage patient flow to minimize wait times and improve overall experience

  • Communicate effectively with providers, office manager, and team members

  • Identify workflow gaps and proactively assist where support is needed

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of dental assisting experience (clinical assisting required; front office experience strongly preferred)

  • Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and basic insurance processes

  • Strong understanding of patient flow and operational efficiency

  • Experience with dental software (Dentrix preferred)

  • Radiology certification

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Dentists chairside
  • Welcomes patients
  • Prepares patients for treatments or checkups ensuring comfort
  • Selection and setup of instrumentation, equipment and other dental materials as needed
  • Instrument sterilization according to regulations
  • Maintains accurate patient records
  • Lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide post-operative care instructions
  • Maintain clean and stocked operatories

Qualifications

  • Active dental assistant license
  • Dental Assistant training/school certification 
  • 2 or more years of dental assisting clinical experience
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Experience with digital software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
