Brien Family Dentistry is now hiring a Full Time Dental Assistant in Baton Rouge, LA

 

We are seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our community of collaborative, high-quality clinical, business and operations professionals!

 

Schedule: Monday and Tuesday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm

Wednesday and Thursday 6:30 am - 3:30 pm

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Dentists chairside
  • Welcomes patients
  • Prepares patients for treatments or checkups ensuring comfort
  • Selection and setup of instrumentation, equipment and other dental materials as needed
  • Instrument sterilization according to regulations
  • Maintains accurate patient records
  • Lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide post-operative care instructions
  • Maintain clean and stocked operatories

Qualifications

 

  • Dental Assistant training/school certification 
  • 2 or more years of dental assisting clinical experience required
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Experience with digital software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Explains procedures clearly to patients
  • Listens to patient concerns and relays them to the dentist
  • Attention to Detail
  • Ensures instruments are properly sterilized
  • Records patient information accurately
  • Compassion & Patience
  • Helps anxious or nervous patients feel at ease
  • Provides emotional support, especially to children or those with dental fears
  • Team Player
  • Works closely with the dentist, hygienist, and front office
  • Jumps in to help wherever needed
  • Good Manual Dexterity
  • Handles small tools efficiently
  • Assists during procedures with precision
  • Organized & Proactive
  • Keeps exam rooms clean and well-stocked
  • Prepares trays and materials ahead of time
  • Knows how to pack cord and take impressions with a scanner and with impression material.
  • Can make a temp crown.
  • Takes efficient and diagnostic X-rays
  • Good at multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understands and can do all OSHA protocols
