Overview

Star Dental Partners is currently seeking a Director of Procurement to join our high-growth and fast-paced dental services organization (DSO). This position will be responsible for building the procurement and purchasing function with an emphasis on creating structure, reporting, and negotiation with vendors. Within this newly created role, the director of procurement will report directly to the chief financial officer (CFO) and build the procurement process for our network of affiliated dental practices. Procurement experience of five (5) years plus is required and candidates should be considered ambitious, driven, and a self-starter.

Responsibilities

  • Build the procurement and purchasing function including creating processes for standardization and scalability
  • Establish procurement operations policies, procedures, and best-practices that are clearly defined, documented, and communicated to business partners
  • Collaborate with the Chief Dental Officer (CDO) to select high-quality laboratory vendors for use within all Star Dental Partners affiliated practices
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships including creating accountability for vendor partners
  • Negotiate with vendors and oversee all agreements to reduce costs and increase purchasing power
  • Resolve all vendor discrepancies in delivery of products or services
  • Provide excellent customer service to business partners, affiliated dental practices, and internal customers
  • Create consistent and comprehensive reporting to showcase supply costs, business impact, and progress
  • Ad hoc projects or other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of direct purchasing and procurement experience required, healthcare related experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to maintain a full-time employment schedule of approximately 40 hours per week; extended hours may be requested or required

Star Dental Partners (SDP) is a private equity backed Dental Support Organization (DSO) that acquires private practice dental office throughout the Southeastern United States and provides industry proven non-clinical support services to our dentist partners. Specifically, the SDP team assists dentists with payables and cash management, revenue cycle collections and payor relationships, inventory management, payroll administration, human resources, marketing, recruiting, and back-office management.
